The Night the Missiles Went Down
On March 16, 1967, Captain Robert Salas was the deputy missile combat crew commander at Oscar Flight, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. During his watch, a guard reported a glowing red disc hovering outside the launch facility fence. Within minutes, ten Minuteman I ICBMs went offline in rapid succession — an event that Salas has argued could only have been caused by an external electromagnetic force.
A similar shutdown occurred at Echo Flight at the same base eight days earlier, again coinciding with reported UFO activity. Both incidents were classified.
The Nuclear Connection
Salas has testified before Congress and at public forums about the incidents, arguing that they represent direct evidence of non-human intelligence interfering with nuclear weapons systems — a pattern he believes has occurred at multiple facilities worldwide. He is co-author of Faded Giant (2005), documenting the Malmstrom incidents in detail.
