The Story That Changed Everything
Leslie Kean is an investigative journalist who co-authored the December 2017 New York Times article — "Glowing Auras and 'Black Money': The Pentagon's Mysterious U.F.O. Program" — that revealed the existence of AATIP to the world and included the first official release of UAP footage. The story, co-written with Ralph Blumenthal and Helene Cooper, triggered a global news cycle and forced the Pentagon to officially acknowledge the videos.
Prior to this, Kean wrote UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record (2010) — a book that collected testimony from credible military and government figures internationally and was endorsed by mainstream figures including former Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta.
The Grusch Story
In 2023, Kean co-authored the Debrief article that first published David Grusch's whistleblower claims, marking the second time she had been at the centre of a major disclosure event. Her rigorous journalistic methodology — corroborating claims through multiple sources before publication — has established her as one of the most trusted reporters on the subject.
